FILMS FROM THE ACADEMY OF MEDIA ARTS COLOGNE
From June 7 onwards we show in our Raum für Video a new program (thru August 5, 2006), which has been curated again by Georg Elben, director of the Videonale Bonn. He presents a selection of recent films of students of the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne (Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln). The compilation of the selected films takes appr. one hour. With it, Elben gives the viewer a kaleidoscopic survey of the most recent productions of the academy while he, in the same time, focuses on performance-videos in which the artists communicate directly with the camera rather than approaching a group of viewers – a position which differs from the performances of the 60ies.
On June 7 at 8.00 p.m., Georg Elben will talk about the videos by Angelique Dubois, Tamara Lorenz, Verena Maas, Alec Crichton, Oliver Kunkel, Julian Neville, Freya Hattenberger, Kevin Matweew and Mischa Leinkauf.

FILME AUS DER KUNSTHOCHSCHULE FÜR MEDIEN KÖLN
Ab dem 7. Juni 2006 zeigen wir in unserem Raum für Video ein neues Programm (Dauer: 7. Juni bis 5. August 2006). Georg Elben, Leiter der Videonale Bonn, der das Programm kuratiert, präsentiert eine Auswahl aktueller Werke von Studenten der Kölner Kunsthochschule für Medien. In der gut einstündigen Zusammenstellung gibt Georg Elben einen kaleidoskopartigen Überblick über die jüngsten Produktionen der Hochschule mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Performance-Videos, in denen sich die Künstler - anders als in der Perfomance Kunst der 60er Jahre - ohne Publikum in einen direkten Dialog allein mit der Kamera begeben.
Am 7. Juni um 20.00h wird Georg Elben über die Arbeiten von Angelique Dubois, Tamara Lorenz, Verena Maas, Alec Crichton, Oliver Kunkel, Julian Neville, Freya Hattenberger, Kevin Matweew und Mischa Leinkauf sprechen.
